While that notion began to change as plumbing and access to clean running water improved in cities across America, the poorest among us didn’t have this same access to ease in cleanliness. To remedy this important aspect of hygiene, The Floating Hospital offered “deep sea baths” on board its water-bound healthcare vessels, pumping water from deep in the Lower Bay on board to fill a giant bathtub fit for communal bathing—rubber ducky not included! | |
